After a three-year layoff, the time has come for ScHoolboy Q to return to music. The California native kicked off his week by delivering his highly-anticipated single, “Soccer Dad.” Juxtaposing his younger years with his current life as an established artist, the TDE star seamlessly floats over the drum and horn-infused production.
“Now here we go again before I had a fam was mappin’ out/Everything I wanted, earned what I planned, you p*ssy n*ggas/Know about my body, called my second wing, quit actin’ like/Me and my crew n*ggas bringin’ the rappers in,” he raps, according to Genius.
ScHoolboy Q is the latest artist from Top Dawg Entertainment to deliver new music this spring. This Friday, Doechii plans to drop a new single and SZA recently confirmed that her sophomore album is complete. Not to mention, Kendrick Lamar is reportedly cooking up his latest studio LP. With all that is going on, it will be an interesting summer for TDE.
