Former Oregon Ducks freshman big man Kel’el Ware has announced he is transferring to the Indiana Hoosiers for next season. This time last year Ware was likely expecting to become a “one and done” prospect and be declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft. Instead, he will be playing college basketball next season in the hope of recovering his draft stock with Indiana. Ware did not quite catch on with Oregon and his draft stock suffered because of it. He will be looking for a fresh start with his new team during the 2023-24 college basketball season.

During his sole season with the Oregon Ducks, Kel’el Ware averaged 6.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 45.7 percent and a three-point percentage of 27.3 percent. Ware is likely hoping that the Hoosiers will be a better fit and that the program can help him as he prepares for the 2024 NBA Draft. Ware is a former five-star recruit and will hope to showcase his talent on an Indiana team that is looking to revitalize the once-great program. Last season was great progress, but this next season the program will be looking to improve with Ware on the roster.
