It’s always been about the family. And, according to Vin Diesel’s Instagram, the family’s getting back together in Fast and Furious 9. Jordana Brewster is making her return to the Fast and Furious franchise in the ninth installment of the mainline series. Brewster, along with her on-screen husband Paul Walker, was written out of the franchise after Walker’s tragic death. It’s unclear if Walker’s Brian will make an appearance similar to how he did in Furious 7.
Diesel has been offering fans updates on the film’s production via his Instagram. This one he started simply by saying, “okay, we’re here, and it is day four.”
“We are still in gratitude because this is such a beautiful place to shoot,” he continued. “We love filming in London, this is one of many locations.” He then turned to introduce Brewster. “I’m here with Jordana — Mia — my incredible sister on and off screen, and we have someone very, very special here,” Diesel finished up his post by introducing a child actor set to play “baby Brian!”
I’d imagine that Walker’s character Brian may only appear in the film by name. But, considering they were able to convincingly pull off scenes in Furious 7 with a mix of CGI and using his brothers as stand-ins, there’s always the chance we could get a heart-warming posthumous cameo.
