Everyone is encouraged to make love, not war, on Valentine’s Day. However, Will Smith didn’t quite get the message.
The Academy Award winner will reportedly the role of an Iraq War veteran in a high-intensity thriller called Sugar Bandits. The film will follow the story of Iraq War veterans banding together in an attempt to derail the drug trade in Boston.
Smith will not only star in the film, but he will also produce the picture through Westbrook Studios alongside Jon Mone. Stuart Ford of AGC Studios and Richard Abate of 3 Arts Entertainment will also earn producing credits. Meanwhile, Chuck Hogan of The Town and The Strain will pen the screenplay inspired by his book, Devils In Exile. No director has been tied to the picture as of now.
Smith has remained incredibly active through the first half of the decade. His recent acting credits include Bad Boys For Life, Emancipation and King Richard. Also, the Philadelphia native has executive produced Peacock’s Bel-Air and hosted The Class of ’88. Despite his infamous debacle at the Academy Awards in 2022, he continues to expand his IMDb page with forthcoming projects like Sugar Bandits, Bad Boys IV with Martin Lawrence and an I Am Legend sequel featuring Michael B. Jordan.
