Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid plans to make his return to the court in game two against the Boston Celtics. This return will happen barring any setbacks ahead of the game tonight. Embiid has been dealing with a sprained LCL in his right knee. In game one of the series, the Philadelphia 76ers, fueled by James Harden’s 45 points, won the game in Boston 119-115. On Tuesday night the 76ers big man was named the NBA Most Valuable Player and will be looking to go up 2-0 on the defending Eastern Conference Champions tonight.
After winning MVP last night, during a quick 76ers celebration, Joel Embiid turned to the team and said: “I’m back.”

This year during the regular season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid averaged 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.7 blocks, and one steal per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 54.8 percent and a three-point percentage of 33 percent. Philadelphia winning game one in Boston without the newly crowned MVP is the best-case scenario for the franchise. Going up 2-0 and heading back to Philadelphia would be a major step in the team making the Eastern Conference Finals. Embiid has long had the goal of winning an NBA Championship and is closer this year than he has perhaps ever been, but Boston will not go down easily. The game is scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. EST on TNT.
