UConn Huskies sophomore shooting guard Jordan Hawkins has announced that he is declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft. He is forgoing his two remaining years of college eligibility and will turn pro after two years with the Huskies. This comes after he helped led his team to the program’s fifth title in the 2023 NCAA Championship. Hawkins has shot up 2023 NBA Draft boards this season after becoming a force for the UConn Huskies. He was vital for the program this year on their way to the Championship game. After a stellar season and a championship, Hawkins is headed to the NBA.

This past season as a sophomore with the UConn Huskies, Jordan Hawkins averaged 16.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 40.9 percent and a three-point percentage of 38.8 percent. His role, minutes, and production took a massive leap in his sophomore year and he quickly emerged as a 2023 NBA Draft prospect. After his play during March Madness, Hawkins has made the case for being selected in the first round. While that is not a guarantee, he will have a chance to earn and prove that he can be a first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
