Michigan Wolverines Head Coach Jim Harbaugh will return to the program for the 2023 college football season. This comes after speculation that he would leave for the NFL after interest from teams. The Denver Broncos were the front-runner in this speculation, but instead, Harbaugh will return to college football. Talks about a contract extension and pay raise are now circulating and news about that will likely come out before the end of January. While Harbaugh was successful in his NFL stint with the San Francisco 49ers, college football seems to be where he thrives.

The goal now for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines is clear. They want to continue to win the Big Ten and make the College Football Playoffs, but this time they want to win a National Championship. In his tenure as the Head Coach of the Michigan Wolverines, Harbaugh has led the team to an overall record of 74-25 and a Big Ten record of 51-17. They have won the Big Ten in back-to-back seasons and made the College Football Playoffs as well. They have lost in the semi-finals both times.
Michigan football has been completely revitalized in Jim Harbaugh’s tenure and it seems like the program is prepared to reward him for that success. The NFL may continue to try to lure him away, but for now, he will be staying with the program.
