Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss joined Zach Lowe on his podcast, ‘The Lowe Post, on Tuesday to talk about multiple Lakers topics. One of them was Luke Walton’s job security as the Lakers head coach.
At the start of the season, Lakers legend and Team President Magic Johnson said that Walton would be the Lakers coach this season unless something drastic happened with the team. The team is not in a good place right now. Since LeBron James suffered a groin injury on Christmas day, the team has delivered a 5-9 record and fell to ninth place in a very tough Western Conference. Even some Lakers fans have expressed their frustration on social media saying the Lakers should fire Luke.

Fortunately for Luke, he has the support from not only from Jeanie but also Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
Tell that to Luke Walton.

In Lowe’s podcast, he asked Buss about Walton’s job security and if there’s a chance the Lakers might fire him this season.
“I can tell you, right now, that everyone – Magic, Rob Pelinka, myself and everyone in the organization is behind Luke… We are doing everything we can to make sure that Luke is successful at his job. I think he is doing a terrific job and given the injuries that we’ve had a challenge…I think Luke has done an impressive job.”
In 2016, Walton decided to leave the Golden State Warriors coaching staff to join the Lakers as their new head coach. As the Lakers head coach, Walton holds a 86-126 lifetime record good for a .406 win percentage. Walton also played for the Lakers for nine seasons and won two NBA championships before he retired and began coaching.
