First and foremost, I would like to thank the good people at JD Sports for allowing Def Pen and myself to review this amazing ‘King Of Trainers’ Box Set.
To be completely honest, I was completely blown away when I finally received the package after several unfortunate delays with shipping. It is all good though, the packaging was stellar and none of the items that were contained in the box, along with the box itself, were damaged. So, to the team responsible for shipping, kudos to you for a job well done.
Upon receiving the notification from FedEx that they attempted to deliver the package and I wasn’t home, initially I had no idea what package I missed until I realized it was the King Of Trainers Box set from JD Sports. The anticipation was killing me to pick up the delivery and finally get to feast my eyes on what it was that they had sent.
Once all the packaging was removed, I was greeted by a 14 pound black box which proudly wore the ‘King Of Trainers’ logo. Inside the box, one of the first items was a thank you letter from Lou (Louise); Thank you for the gift!
Next up was, “Sneakers: The Trump Card Game” created by Thames & Hudson, as well as a book, “Sneakers: The Complete Limited Edition Guide.”
Complied with 54 cards total the ‘Trump Card Game’ is very unique,
“Whether you just want to collect the cards or to play a game that sets your wits against other sneaker freaks, now you have a chance to answer those arguments about the greatest sneakers once and for all
– or start them.”
As for the Sneakers guide which houses 356 sneakers,
“This sequel to the classic Sneakers: The Complete Collectors’ Guide is a global survey and reference guide to the very best and most collectible limited-edition sneaker designs released over the last decade”
This is only the beginning as there were also CREP PROTECT Wipes, the ultimate shoe cleaning wipes which I can pretty much assure I will be using rather often. Now, I know they say they’re the King of Trainers, which is obviously aimed towards the sneakers, but JD Sports also looked out for the runner, that being me of course. By doing so, they provided two products from WingMan which consists of a 3-in-1 shower+shampoo+shave multi-gel along with a moisturizer. I have yet to use them, but I will.
Almost there guys, I told you the box set caught me off guard with everything it supplied.
Extra laces? No problem. Mr. Lacy’s high quality Ropies were also included and something I definitely will benefit from is the set of shoe trees to help keep my sneakers in top shape and rid them of possible creases. Now, for the grand finale of the King Of Trainers box set, the Krates&Co, premium sneaker display crate that is a great alternative for sneaker boxes. Oh, and how could I forget, JD Sports provided me with a pair of Nike Air Max 90 OG ‘Infrared’ to put the icing on the cake for this great gift.
Make sure you guys check out the pictures and head on over to Instagram to follow @JDSportsOfficial, as well as @defpen and @DefPenKicks. Also shout out to Tripz, the background music is his song ‘Business As Usual‘ off his ‘No Luggage’ project.
