The Texas Tech Red Raiders have received a commitment from guard Jahmius Ramsey and he is now their highest ranking commit in school history. The combo guard has a composite raking of 33rd in the 2019 recruiting class. Ramsey was also considering Memphis, Indiana, Miami and Louisville before he committed to the Red Raiders. The previous player to be ranked the highest commit in school history is a current freshman Khavon Moore. The two will likely play together next year.

The Red Raiders landing a recruit like Jahmius Ramsey shows that they are slowly, but surely building a program to be reckoned with in college basketball. Names like Zhaire Smith and others are becoming known in the NBA and they have Texas Tech to thank for that. Head Coach Chris Beard is building a program worth paying attention to down in Lubbock, Texas. The Big 12 team is becoming a yearly threat to the “big boys” of the conference. The more talent they get the bigger a threat they can become for teams like the Kansas Jayhawks.
Ramsey will head to the Red Raiders next year and will provide an immediate impact for the team. The combo guard is extremely athletic and fits well into Beard’s system with his versatility. The high school senior stands at 6’4″ and checks in at right around 180 pounds. Ramsey has also shown promise as a two-way player and improved his stock last winter with his play and budding skill set. This is the third commit in the Red Raiders 2019 class and with a few seniors on the team, this talent level is welcomed. Sophomore guard Jarrett Culver could also make the jump to the NBA. Jahmius Ramsey is headed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
