Colorado police are now investigating star Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant over the gun video on his Instagram Live. In the video Morant appeared to show a gun while in a nightclub in Glendale, Colorado. The Glendale Police Department confirmed the incident took place at a bar in the city and that they are investigating it at this time. It is unclear at this time if Morant broke any gun laws in the state, but that is a part of the investigation. Morant is currently on an indefinite leave of absence from the Grizzlies following the incident.

Colorado is an open-carry state, but laws like this do have some rules along with them. It is illegal in the state to carry a gun while under the influence of alcohol. The police were not aware of the incident until the Instagram Live video gained traction online. It is also likely that Ja Morant broke NBA policy with his actions.
The Memphis Grizzlies are currently the two seed in the Western Conference Standings with an overall record of 38-25. This season Ja Morant is averaging 27.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He has paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 46.3 percent and a three-point percentage of 31.6 percent.
