The Jacksonville Jaguars have informed tight end, Evan Engram, that they are placing the franchise tag on him for next season. This will give him and the team until July to work out a long-term deal. If they do not reach a deal before then the team will pay him $11.345 million for the 2023-24 NFL season. The tight end joined the team last offseason after five seasons with the New York Giants. He quickly emerged as a top target for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and now the team views him as a top tight end in the NFL.
Jaguars officially placed their franchise tag today on TE Evan Engram, per source. What was expected now is official.

This past season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Evan Engram caught 73 passes for 766 yards and four touchdowns on 98 targets. He also rushed the ball two times for 13 yards and zero rushing touchdowns. Engram struggled some with the New York Giants but found his footing this year with Lawrence and the Jaguars. The two sides will work to get a long-term deal done before July. It seems that the Jacksonville Jaguars are quickly improving and could prove to be an AFC powerhouse in the coming seasons if they continue to trend upwards. Engram could be a big part of that if he continues to play like he did last season.
