After a blowout win over his former team, defensive end J.J. Watt will undergo shoulder surgery that may end his season. He has been ruled out of the Week 8 Thursday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers. There is no word on when the surgery will take place, but the recovery time is expected to be about three months. Green Bay has its own injury problems, but nothing that could take out a starter for the year. The Cardinals are currently 7-0 and the only unbeaten team left in the NFL.

Cardinals’ DE J.J. Watt will undergo what is now likely to be season-ending shoulder surgery, sources tell ESPN. No date set yet for surgery.

Watt is on the back end of his career, but still has plenty left to help Arizona win games. The all-time great pass rusher will likely have to wait until next season to get back on the field. His absence may not hurt the team too much in the regular season, but this young team needed him in the playoffs.

Hopefully, J.J. Watt will be able to come back when he recovers from his shoulder surgery. It will likely be next season, but we will keep you updated. We here at Def Pen Sports hope to see Watt healthy and back on the field as soon as possible.
