The Green Bay Packers have placed star wide receiver, Davante Adams, on the COVID-19 list ahead of their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. He will not be eligible to play with a short week and for the Packers, it comes at a bad time. The Cardinals, at 7-0, are the last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL and the Packers will be shorthanded without Adams. While the team has a chance with Aaron Rodgers, Adams is the NFL’s third-place leader in receiving yards for a reason.

Aaron Rodgers said he has spoken to Davante Adams since his positive COVID test.
“He seems to be health-wise doing OK. [He’s] obviously disappointed.”

Davante Adams is a massive part of the Packers’ offense and it will be hard for the team to win against a team the caliber of the Arizona Cardinals without him. Aaron Rodgers can rarely be counted out of games and Thursday Night Football can be odd at times. Currently, on the season, Adams has 52 catches for 744 yards and three touchdowns. With him out the team will likely lean more on running back Aaron Jones, wide receiver Allen Lazard, and wide receiver Randall Cobb.
Aaron Rodgers in last 6 games without Davante Adams:
• 142/202
• 1,865 yards
• 17 TDs, 1 INT
• 125.2 passer rating
• 6-0Yes this situation is very bad, but this game is still winnable.

The Packers shouldn’t be counted out in this game, but it will be more difficult without Davante Adams on the field. With their next game coming after a long time off the team should get him back in Week 9. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Adams a speedy recovery.
