Michigan has landed a highly-touted five-star recruit in power forward Isaiah Todd. The 2020 power forward is the highest-ranked recruit that Michigan has landed since they began ranking prospects. This is Juwan Howard’s first five-star acquisition in his new tenure with the Wolverines. Michigan needed an infusion of talent coming into the 2020 class and now they have just that.

There is a reason for Michigan to celebrate after acquiring the talented Power Forward, but there are rumors that he may never play college basketball. He may decide to spend that year overseas and then head to the 2021 NBA Draft, but nothing like that is confirmed. The rumors could have some merit and RJ Hampton sent an easy to follow path last year. Todd is set to play for the Wolverines next season for now.
The decision came down to either Michigan or the Kansas Jayhawks. Todd had long been slated to head to the Kentucky Wildcats, but the school cooled their recruitment of him in the months leading up to his decision. There was also some speculation about North Carolina, but their frontcourt is far too crowded next year.
Michigan also has the commitment of four-star recruit Zeb Jackson for the 2020 recruiting class. The guard is a top-65 recruit in the class and a nice addition to the Word of God prospect Isaiah Todd. There is an argument to be made that the prospect could be the best big man in the class, but he does have some serious competition. The Wolverines are going to have a rebuilding 2019 season. Todd could complete the new look Wolverines in just one season.
