The 2020 class has one less undecided recruit with the commitment of five-star power forward Isaiah Jackson. Alabama seemed to gain a lead over Kentucky and Syracuse in the weeks leading up to his commitment. Hours before the forward was set to make his decision the Kentucky Wildcats surged forward. Jackson would choose the Wildcats over the Crimson Tide and the Orange.

This will move the Wildcats over the Duke Blue Devils for the number one recruiting class in 2020. Isaiah Jackson will join fellow five-stars Terrence Clarke, BJ Boston, and Devin Askew. Four-star forwards Lance Ware and Cam’Ron Fletcher are also expected to join the Wildcats 2020 roster. All six of the Kentucky recruits are ranked in the top 50 of the 2020 recruiting class. Fletcher being the lowest-ranked at 45th in the class.
Jackson is the 26th ranked recruit in the 2020 class and projects as a potential starting power forward in his first year. He may end up being a “one and done” prospect but his level of play will largely determine his 2021 NBA Draft stock. The talent is there, but a lottery or first-round nod will likely need to be guaranteed if he leaves after one year.
It is hard to determine if Kentucky is done recruiting in the 2020 class despite their six recruits. They will need a center but could look at the grad transfer pool for that answer. There are a few prospects that still have offers from Kentucky in the 2020 class, but interest varies for each option. It could also largely depend on who remains from the 2019 roster after this season. John Calipari has yet another incredibly talented recruiting class coming in next year.
