The Kentucky recruiting train isn’t slowing down anytime soon. John Calipari has brought in yet another five-star recruit in 2021 top ten recruit Devin Askew. Askew should slide perfectly into Calipari’s backcourt seamlessly with his ability to score and handle the ball. The rest of the 2021 class will no doubt be filled out by other five stars as Calipari recruiting classes often are.
There have been rumors of Askew potentially reclassifying into the 2020 class. With many believing top-five recruit Cade Cunningham is leaning Kentucky many wonder if the backcourt fit will work. Calipari is someone who probably could get two great guards to work well together in his backcourt though.

Askew is seen as a combo guard although he does flash some solid playmaking ability. His real value comes in his ability to score where he is efficient at all three levels. He’s already well put together at 6’3″ and 200 pounds. He is a guard who will be ready immediately once he steps on campus. That is one of the main reasons many feel he could reclassify because his body is college-ready now. In addition to his game being mature skill-wise, watching what decisions he makes will be interesting.
