Since the nasty breakup between Hideo Kojima and Konami has been taking place, there has been rumors left and right about Kojima’s employment status. One week Kojima was still an employee, the next week he wasn’t, the next week he Konami claimed Kojima was on a vacation. In October, the New Yorker reported that Kojima was in-fact still an employee, and under a non-compete clause until December.
It is now December 15th, and Hideo Kojima is finally an ex-employee for Konami. Thanks to an interview with Japan’s Nikkei, we now know that Kojima may have his own studio soon. Hideo and Sony are currently in the process of securing a partnership.
