At the moment, few cities in the world are having a greater impact on the sound of Hip-Hop than Detroit. Whether it’s Babyface Ray collaborating with Nija and BLXST or Royce Da 5’9 putting out a new album, Detroit artists from all subgenres and eras are thriving. Among the best of the best that Motor City has to offer is G.T. After teaming up with the likes of Westside Gunn and Peezy to kick off the year, the Michigan native is ready to wrap up his 2022 resumé with a new project called Money Counter Music Vol. 2: Born In It. The 16-track LP features fellow Detroit artists like Icewear Vezzo, Babyface Ray and Pretty Brayah among others. It also includes contributions from the likes of Curren$y and Larry June.
G.T. is not only releasing new music, but he’s also using the month of November to give back to the city where he grew up. This week, the Detroit native teamed up with world-champion boxers Alycia Baumgardner and Tony Harrison to host a grocery giveaway before Thanksgiving. Held at the Super Bad Boxing Gym on Tuesday at 11 a.m., his efforts helped hundreds of families get through the holiday with a meal.
Whether it’s delivering new music, giving back or performing on stage, G.T. is making the city of Detroit proud. Check out his new project, Money Counter Music Vol. 2: Born In It below.
