The 64th Annual Grammy Awards are set to begin in approximately 90 minutes. While Trevor Noah is scheduled to host the The Recording Academy’s premiere event, he may not be the first face that viewers see when the broadcast begins on CBS. Instead, fans may enjoy a performance from Silk Sonic as the clock strikes 8 p.m. on the east coast. Variety has reported that Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have been tapped to deliver the first performance of the night at the MGM Grand Arena. The talented duo is not new to the Grammy Awards stage. Last year, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak performed “Leave The Door Open” as Noah hosted.
Silk Sonic is not only slated to perform, but they may also walk away with a few awards. After delivering their highly-anticipated LP, An Evening With Silk Sonic, The Recording Academy rewarded them with four nominations.
In addition to Silk Sonic, the 64th Annual Grammy Awards will also feature performances from the following artists: Lil’ Nas X, Billie Eilish, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, John Legend, Nas, Carrie Underwood, Maria Becerra and J Balvin. Not to mention, rumors suggest that the Foo Fighters may deliver a tribute performance for their fallen bandmate, Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins passed away last month at the age of 50. In the wake of his passing, the band canceled all upcoming tour dates.
The 64th Annual Grammy Awards are set to begin this evening at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
