Netflix has renewed one of the more popular series, Ginny & Georgia, for a second season. The streaming platform confirmed the news through their Youtube channel on Tuesday.
“We are so appreciative of the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny & Georgia,” Ginny & Georgia Executive Producer Debra J. Fisher said.
“We’re especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest bar every step of the way. We can’t wait to return to Wellsbury for Season 2.”
Ginny & Georgia is a coming-of-age story that centers around a mother named Georgia, played by Brianne Howey, as she works to raise her teenage daughter, Ginny. Antonia Gentry plays the role of Ginny. Throughout the series, Gentry and Howey are joined by Diesel La Torraca, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Mason Temple and Raymond Ablack.
Earning 52 million viewers, season one proved to be immensely successful. The cast and crew will look to capitalize on that large fanbase as they move into season two.
Ginny & Georgia is the latest show at Netflix to earn a renewal. Bridgerton has recently been renewed for three more seasons at the streaming platform. The Witcher, Cobra Kai and You are set to return for new seasons this winter as well. At this time, it is unclear when Ginny & Georgia will return for its highly-anticipated second season.
