Bridgerton has not even wrapped up production for season two, but it has already some very good news. Netflix has announced that it will renew the show for seasons three and four as well.
“Bridgerton swept us off our feet,” Bela Bajaria of Netflix told Shadow & Act.
“The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”
This news comes shortly after it was announced that the star of season one, Regé-Jean Page, would not return for the show’s second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was offered a raise to come back for another season, but declined to focus on his film career. He is set to star in the Russo Brothers‘ The Gray Man and an adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons.
With Page gone from the show, season two will focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton. Netflix has not yet shared a release date for the show’s second season.
