Gayle King has announced that she will be extending her stay at CBS News. During a recent episode of Gayle King in the House on SiriusXM radio, King shared the news.
“I officially signed on the dotted line. So I will be with CBS a little longer,” she said, according to Deadline.
Prior to her announcement, CNN had reportedly courted King and offered the journalist a show of her own. However, King claims she was never interested in the idea of moving to CNN.
“I don’t know why people thought that just because you have a grandchild now all of a sudden you just want to give up your career and go sit in California,” King explained.
“No. I still, you know, I still feel that in many ways I’m just getting started. So I celebrated my 10 year anniversary, that was always great fun.”
King has co-hosted CBS’ morning show since 2012. She currently works alongside Nate Burleson and Tony Dokoupil on the newly-rebranded show, CBS Mornings.
