Heading into the fourth season of Netflix’s The Crown, many fans were wondering who would play the pivotal role of Princess Diana. This week, executive producer Peter Morgan put an end to these questions and rumors. Morgan let fans know that actress Emma Corrin will play the role of Princess Diana in The Crown. Previously, Corrin appeared in the film, Misbehavior, and Epix’s Batman series, Pennyworth.
After the announcement was made, Corrin took to Twitter to celebrate the major break in her blossoming career. Corrin wrote, “I have been glued to the show and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal.” She added, “Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring.” Corrin ended by writing, “To explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity and I will strive to do her justice!”
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the next season of The Crown. However, the show will begin filming its fourth season later this year. In the meantime, Netflix will roll out new seasons of Jessica Jones, Orange Is The New Black and much more. Check out what Netflix has to offer this month.
