If Kali Uchis, SZA, Doja Cat, Lizzo and practically every other major artist you can imagine says you’re dope, there’s a good chance you’re dope. If you don’t know by know, Chicago’s own Dreamer Isioma is a multi-talented singer-songwriter who has garnered support from some of the biggest artists in the world. However, they aren’t necessarily letting that go to their head. In fact, Dreamer Isioma is just getting started.
“[I’m] introducing a new sound of revolution tomorrow night?,” they wrote on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon.
Well, a few hours have passed and they are ready to fulfill their promise. Dreamer Isioma’s latest release is a groovy, melodic adventure that brings Merilyn Wood of Brockhampton along for the ride. Fusing Afrobeats, R&B and swing in a way that only they can, Dreamer Isioma delivers “an anthem for love that knows no bounds.”
“It is you. You are the one that I adore. Introduce me to your world,” the Chicago native sings.
“Come, let me explore. Yeah, [we’re] on the dance floor. Take me to your family. Tell ’em that you’re my girl. If you’re not ready, then you’re ready for me. We were born to do whatever we please.”
