It is almost that time for the 2015 Nike x OHSU Doernbecher Freestyle Collection. Back in August we were provided with some early information in regards to the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, the info entailed which silhouettes would be used by the patients chosen to partake in this great cause. So far we know the Nike Air Max 95, Nike Air Max2 CB ’94, Nike LeBron 13 and Air Jordan 13 Retro. Being these four sneakers are part of the collection puts 2015 in the running for the best DB collection. While we have yet to get any concrete information or first look at designs yet we do know that the unveiling of 2015 Nike x OHSU Doernbecher Freestyle Collection will take place on October 23, 2015 at the Portland Art Museum.
For the preview of the Doernbecher Air Jordan 13 seen above, there isn’t much to go off but we can make out that the sole is obviously pink. There is wording throughout that reads “courage”, “fight” and “strength”. Lastly we see a soccer design with the number 0. Now if you read the description of the 6 children chosen, John Charles who is 10 years old with Crohn’s disease looks to me to be the designer behind the 13’s, I could be wrong. With his description it states his favorite player is Damian Lillard which could be why the “0” is on the sole and he likes to play outside which could be why the soccer ball is there, probably his favorite sport. Again, we have to wait to 10/23 to find out all the details so stay tuned.
Let us know what your thoughts are on the endless possibilities for the DB Collection and importantly the Air Jordan 13.
