It may be a few days past Christmas, but Showtime and Premier Boxing Champions is still trying to put a few more gifts under the tree. As the clock struck midnight and billions around the world celebrated a new year, Showtime celebrated by announcing the return of super lightweight contender Brandun Lee. The 140-pound phenom is expected to fight in Washington, D.C. on January 7 at Capital One Arena.
In his first fight of 2023, Brandun Lee is expected to fight Patrick Okine. Hailing from Accra, Ghana, Okine will enter the ring with a record of 20-4-2. Despite having a bit of experience as a professional, he will enter into new territory as he typically fights within the super featherweight division. Meanwhile, Okine’s opponent, Lee, enters the ring as a natural super lightweight with a record of 26-0 with 22 knockouts.
Brandun Lee is far from the only contender entering the ring on January 7 at Capital One Arena. Similarly, Jaron “Boots” Ennis, Demetrius Andrade and Rashidi Ellis will all put their undefeated records on the line in the nation’s capital. Not to be forgotten, the event will be headlined by a pair of unbeaten fighters, Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Héctor Garcia, in a lightweight clash.
