The Houston Rockets have had a busy and stellar offseason. It started with acquiring Chris Paul to team him up with James Harden in the backcourt. The team also signed free agent forward PJ Tucker and is reportedly looking to trade more expiring and non-guaranteed deals for difference makers.
Rockets GM Daryl Morey was savvy in how he approached the offseason and he appears happy with the results thus far. Here he is in his own words via Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle:
“I’ll put that group up against any in the league,” he said.
“We really like our eight that we have right now,” Morey added.
Morey has reason to be confident in his team. The backcourt on its own is a big plus and the Rockets have plenty of role players complementing the All-NBA guards.
Whether the Rockets’ new look is enough to beat the Golden State Warriors is another question as Golden State is who everyone is trying to catch at this point. But Houston has placed itself in position to at least have a chance and that’s all anyone can hope for in this climate.
