Arizona Wildcats sophomore guard Dalen Terry has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft but will maintain his college eligibility. Arizona fell short this year despite being a one seed and lost in the Sweet 16 of the 2022 NCAA Tournament to the Houston Cougars. Terry is a promising prospect and his decision will likely depend on his draft position. With NIL and a likely larger role next season this may just serve to show him where NBA teams view him and where he needs to improve.

As a sophomore with the Arizona Wildcats, Dalen Terry averaged 8.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. His steals per game led the team this season while his assists per game finished second on the team. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 50.2 percent and a three-point percentage of 36.4 percent. Terry was an electric rotational player for Arizona and gained attention in the PAC-12 for his play. His junior season could land him several awards if he decides to return to the program.

Speculation right now is the thing that would keep Dalen Terry in the 2022 NBA Draft is a first-round selection. While that isn’t impossible after workouts it does seem unlikely right now. Even still this process will be good for him because he will get feedback from NBA teams. Terry will get that feedback and then make his decision. Either way, big things are in store for the Arizona guard next season. Either a junior year at Arizona or an NBA contract is in store.
