I am a big fan of collaborations and this upcoming Concepts x Diadora N.9000 ‘Lire’ is just another example as to why. Dressed in some vibrant colors which could easily be synonomous with the Easter holiday, the inspiration actually is taken from old Lire currency of Italy. Ironically enough, which I am sure is no coincidence, Italy just so happens to be where Diadora originates from. Nice touch to incorporate something as simple as currency with the hometown the sneaker was birth at.
The upcoming Concepts collaboration is expected to release this October 3, 2015 for the retail price of $205 and will be releasing at the Concepts Cambridge location (where the shop originated) and online (www.CNCPTSIntl) at 10 AM.
Check out the official unveiling as well as the detailed pictures then let us know if they will be a DEF Cop or DEF Not.
Concepts joins Italian-based Diadora on the MADE IN ITALY N 9000 silhouette. The Concepts x Diadora N 9000 “Lire” calls back to Italy’s pre-Euro currency, the Italian Lire. Specifically, the shoe features the color scheme found on the 500,000 Lire note, the highest denomination bill in Italy’s history. Colors are pulled from the aquamarine and and pink on the back of the bill, which featured the Italian painter/architect Raffaello. The bill in its entirety can be found printed on the custom Concepts branded insoles. The upper makes use of an extremely high quality suede that blends in the pastel colors of the 500,000 Lire note on the paneling. “500000” is stitched in green the heel of each sneaker, while the Diadora logo features subtle 3m backing. Shoes come with 3 sets of laces and Concepts specific box. Available 10.03.15, this Concepts World Wide exclusive sneaker and will only be available online at cncptsintl.com and in-store at Concepts Cambridge. Retail will be $205.
