Celebrating 20 years, the folks at concepts look to take inspiration from their city’s roots with this upcoming Concepts x New Balance ‘City Rivalry Pack’. While Concepts is a Boston based retailers, they are now one of the growing premier retailers in New York City as they have a location there. So what better way to celebrate than reflecting on the past rivalry their hometown heroes, the Boston Red Sox have/had against the New York Yankees. As you can see a picture of the first sneaker which colorway is obviously reminiscent of the Red Sox, the Yankees colorway has yet to be scene. Teaming up with the W Hotel for their release, the W has released information regarding the collaboration along with a pretty dope release party which will be taking place. UPDATE: Finally we have detailed pictures of both colorways for the upcoming Concepts x New Balance ‘City Rivalry Pack’ which takes influence from Boston and New York respectively. The influence to use Beantown and NYC comes from the rooted rivalry the two cities have in MLB with the Red Sox and Yankees. The folks at CNCPTS had an event for the collaboration in NYC recently and now we are here with confirmed release details. The Boston colorway is which is seen on the New Balance 998 took inspiration from Boston’s Yawkey Way which holds the same color combination of rust and green which can be seen on the sneakers. The NY colorway took its inspiration from the green of the Statue of Liberty and cracker jacks for the insole.
