New Wizards General Manager Tommy Shepard talked about the work done by the team’s medical staff when they discover Miles’ injury and the impact he will have on the team for the upcoming season.
“Our medical team has done a fantastic job of proactively diagnosing C.J.’s condition and establishing a treatment protocol. He will continue to be a positive influence on our team as he works through his rehab and we’re looking forward to getting him back on the court when he is healthy.”
Miles was traded by the Memphis Grizzlies to the Washington Wizards in early July in exchange of Dwight Howard. In this past season, Miles played with the Toronto Raptors and the Memphis Grizzlies as he was part of the Marc Gasol trade to Toronto. He played a total of 53 games and averaged 6.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists in 16.2 minutes per game.
