Just 24 hours ago, 20th Century Fox released the final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse and it raised plenty of eyebrows. Up until yesterday, viewers were pretty sure Hugh Jackman wouldn’t appear in Apocalypse and that his final film would be Wolverine III, but Singer decided to let the cat out of the bag. Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in Apocalypse, but to what extent, is the question raised.
Singer sat with Empire to talk about the inclusion of Wolverine in the trailer and if that is actually Wolverine.
“Make of that what you want,” Singer tells Empire. “I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction.”
When asked if the fans will find out if the adamantium claws belong to Jackman’s Wolverine or not, Singer tells Empire “It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in… It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.”
