BET Media Group has launched two free, ad-supported television channels —BET Tyler Perry Comedy and BET Tyler Perry Drama. The channels will present nonstop marathons of Tyler Perry’s most popular series, including House of Payne, The Oval, Sistas, Ruthless, Assisted Living, All The Queens Men and ZATIMA. Additional series like The Haves and The Have Nots, Meet The Browns and Too Close To Home will be added at a later a date. Both channels will be available through various ad-supported vehicles such as Roku, Pluto TV, Plex, TCL and FreeVee.
“The introduction of Perry’s content to FAST channels is a momentous occasion in our partnership,” BET Media Group Media Sales President Louis Carr said.
“We’re thrilled to provide Black audiences with a fresh avenue to enjoy Tyler Perry’s content and offer more access options for our original programming.”
In addition to launching two channels filled with his programming, BET Media Group has also inked a deal with Tyler Perry that will expand their partnership through 2028. Together, they will develop “hundreds of new episodes to BET, comprising both top existing and entirely new series.”
“Tyler Perry is simply without rival as a creator of content that powerfully resonates with audiences across genres, formats, and platforms,” BET Media Group CEO Scott Mills said.
“Our programming partnership with Tyler – undoubtably the largest deal ever in the industry with a Black creator – has been hugely successful; delivering the number one series across all TV among Black audiences and five of the top 10 series on cable among Black viewers.”
