GameStop executive Mike Buskey has a wonderful announcement for all GameStop employees. Just like Thanksgiving 2014, all GameStop retailers will be closed for Thanksgiving this year and potentially every Thanksgiving to come.
In a statement released by GameStop, the company has informed its customers and retail associates that it will be taking a stand against retailers taking away family orientated holiday’s from their workers.
Executive V.P and President of U.S. Stores, Mike Buskey, had this to say on the topic at hand: “We believe strongly that our customers and associates should have the opportunity to spend the Thanksgiving holiday relaxing with family and friends, and not worrying with the stress of where to find the best shopping deals. We know this is in stark contrast to what many other retailers are doing, but we are taking a stance to protect family time during this important holiday, for our customers who want to do a little shopping on Thanksgiving Day, www.gamestop.com and www.thinkgeek.com will be open all day and taking orders.”
With this decision, GameStop has also informed us that it will have “bigger and better” deals for customers on Black Friday. All of GameStops retail stores participating in Black Friday will be open at 5 a.m. Stay tuned for all of the Black Friday deals from GameStop.
