A new twist to an all-time classic, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Patent Bred” is finally set to make its official debut. After a scrapped October 2021 release date, they will be arriving just in time for the new year.

The silhouette and colorway, specifically, that revolutionized on-court sneakers has gone from being “Banned” to world-renowned. Debuting back in 1985, this fan favorite is still running strong as we look to close out 2021 and usher in a new year, 2022.

The many iterations of the “Bred” colorway have delivered countless memories for sneakerheads alike and this December 2021 you’ll get a chance to add a piece of Air Jordan history to your collection.

Patent leather on an Air Jordan has long been popularized on such silhouettes as the Air Jordan 11. Looking to continue in its footsteps The Air Jordan 1 has seen its fair share over the years as well. “Black & Gold”, “UNC”, “Top 3” in its black/gold-white and that is just to name a few. Who said you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks?

Featuring “FAMILY” stitched along the sock liner, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Patent Bred” is going to include glossy packaging to complement its new look. There are two sets of extra laces and a glossy red Jumpman hangtag that adds a finishing touch to make these the perfect addition going into the new year.

There are also rumblings of a “Family Size Run” which would make sense considering the fact that “Family” is stitched onto the sock liner. There is nothing like sharing your passion for sneakers with your loved ones.

While the initial release date was pushed back the anticipation and overall hype for the “Patent Bred” AJ1 has steadily grown. Putting the anticipation of its release almost in the rearview mirror, a confirmed release date has been provided.

Will you be grabbing a pair? Looking to double up or are these an easy pass? The overall reviews have been mixed thus far but with any Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, expect for these to sell out the day of release.
