No team has had a more interesting draft process than the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly has moved from 13 to 8 to 2 in order to secure its eventual franchise quarterback. Outside of the quarterback who else will be wearing the infamous Kelly green in 2016?
Holding the 2nd overall pick it has become very clear the Eagles will wind up with Carson Wentz. This has sent a ripple effect through the organization prompting incumbent starter Sam Bradford to want out. The Wentz vs. Goff debate has been discussed at length only time will tell if the Eagles made the right move.
The remaining Eagles picks are the following 79th (3rd), 153rd (5th), 164th (5th), 188th (6th), 233rd (7th), 251st (7th). You can see the Eagles are hurting for picks and if they cannot find a taker for Sam Bradford this is what they will wind up with. Frankly this is not a very good football team with holes at virtually every position. One spot the Eagles could turn is cornerback. Eric Rowe was selected in the 2nd round last season yet after dealing away Byron Maxwell it is clear they could use another corner. Eric Murray from Minnesota could be an option in round 3.
Later in the draft you will be bargain shopping. One player I have my eyes on is Kelvin Taylor from Florida who was recently discussed in the NFL Draft podcast. Taylor reminds me of Giovanni Bernard who could be a great fit in Doug Pederson’s offense.
