Seven years ago, something special took place in nation’s capital. Minutes away from Capitol Hill, Drake, Miguel and Wale took the stage at the inaugural Landmark Music Festival. While the event attracted thousands of people, it never returned for a second installment. Since then, a number of festivals in the area have elevated to new levels of popularity. Broccoli City Festival and All Things Go are just a few of the events that come to mind. With that said, the city has not given the green light for a major festival to return to the vicinity of the U.S. Capitol. Fortunately, that will all change in June.
For the first time, Something In The Water will make its way to Washington, D.C. Right on Independence Avenue, legends like Usher, Pharrell and Pusha T are set to take the stage during the weekend of Juneteenth. Also, Chloe x Halle, 6LACK, Lil’ Uzi Vert, Lil’ Baby and Tyler, The Creator are set to perform as well. Needless to say, it’s an event that should not be missed. Here’s a quick preview of what fans should expect for next month’s mega event.
