Major League Baseball has officially released the Gold Glove winners, honoring the top defensive players at each position in the American and National League. The two big names between the two leagues were Nolan Arenado in the National League and Mookie Betts in the American League. Just a week after winning the World Series, the Boston Red Sox had the most Gold Glove winners in the American League having Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Ian Kinsler all get honored.

In the American League, Betts picked up his third straight Gold Glove award, Bradley Jr. won his first gold glove, and after being traded to the Red Sox, Kinsler picked up his second Gold Glove. The Kansas City Royals were represented by Salvador Perez who took home his fifth Gold Glove in six seasons, notably throwing out 46% of runners who tried to steal in 2018. The Royals also had left-fielder Alex Gordon win his sixth Gold Glove.
The Oakland Athletics corner-infield won Gold Gloves in 2018 with Matt Olson along with Matt Chapman taking home their first Gold Glove awards. The Houston Astros had pitcher Dallas Keuchel win his fourth Gold Glove award and the Los Angeles Angels had shortstop Andrelton Simmons also win his fourth Gold Glove.
In the National League, the Braves tied the Red Sox with three winners, Freddie Freeman, Ender Inciarte, and Nick Markakis. Freeman’s first award came in a tie with Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo who took home his second Gold Glove in the fourth tie in Major League history. Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis each took home their third awards for the Braves. Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado continued his perfect streak, picking up his sixth Gold Glove in six years. Joining Arenado for the Rockies, D.J. Lemahieu received his third Gold Glove award.
The Arizona Diamondbacks had two honorees, pitcher Zack Greinke who took home his fifth straight award and shortstop Nick Ahmed who took home his first award. The St. Louis Cardinals catcher, Yadier Molina, took home his ninth Gold Glove award. To round out the National League, Pittsburgh Pirates left-fielder took home his first Glove Glove award.
