While the Warriors reportedly intend to skip their White House visit, they haven’t actually been invited yet:

This isn’t exactly a surprise; they just won the championship last night. The White House invite will come. It will be interesting to see if the team as a whole skips the visit, or if certain members of the team skip it. Stephen Curry’s decision will be especially interesting; in February, he called Donald Trump an ass.
Original story follows:
It’s official. The Golden State Warriors are the 2017 NBA Champions. They closed out their series against the Cleveland Cavaliers in game five thanks to strong 30-point performances from Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry and a 20 point night off the bench from Andre Iguodala. It was the Warriors game, and series, to lose and despite a game four slip-up, the Warriors handled Cleveland and LeBron James pretty easily.
Now that Golden State is crowned champions of the league, what’s next? NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant will most likely have to do a ton of media and the team has their victory parade across Oakland coming on Thursday. But one tradition that has relatively been up in the air for many teams given the current state of the political unrest was the possible visit to the White House.
Many anticipated that Golden State would not be a team heading to the White House. They would be breaking a long tradition of sports teams going to the White House and being honored by the President. Earlier in the year, a large number of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots elected to not go and now it appears the Warriors will do the same.
The Dubs are reportedly skipping the White House visit and will not see the current president.
