Purdue Boilermakers junior big man Zach Edey has declared for the 2023 NBA Draft but will maintain his college eligibility. The dominant Purdue big man won the 2022-23 NCAA Player of the Year Award after a fantastic season. He can still spend two more seasons in college basketball if he so chooses, but the right draft feedback could have him turn pro this year. Edey would likely need a guarantee from a team that they will draft him somewhere in the second round to forgo his college eligibility. For now, he will get feedback in order to make a decision later this year.

This past season as a junior for the Purdue Boilermakers, Zach Edey averaged 22.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 60.7 percent and a free-throw percentage of 73.4 percent. This time last season Edey did briefly consider entering the 2022 NBA Draft and turning pro. Ultimately he did decide to return to school and it certainly paid off with the season he just had. This off-season could prove to be a more difficult decision for him, if he gets the right feedback from any NBA teams that have draft picks or the cash to buy a late second-round pick.
