
Willie Cauley-Stein is reportedly sitting out of next month’s resumed NBA season. As reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Cauley-Stein is sitting out due to expecting a child next month. The news of Cauley-Stein sitting out is reported to have prompted the Dallas Mavericks to sign Trey Burke to fill his roster spot.

Cauley-Stein was traded to the Mavericks from the Golden State Warriors in January and has since made 13 appearances for Dallas, averaging 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Trey Burke last played with the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 5.9 points and 2.1 assists in the 25 appearances he made for the Sixers earlier this season.
The decision of Cauley-Stein to sit out the resumed NBA season at the end of next month adds his name to the list of players sitting out, with Davis Bertans of the Washington Wizards as well as Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley not participating.
