Former Nevada Wolfpack junior big man Will Baker has announced that he has transferred to the LSU Tigers for next season. Baker began his college basketball career with the Texas Longhorns but transferred to Nevada for a bigger opportunity. Now that he has proven himself at Nevada he seems ready to try again in the high majors. Baker is a former top 40 recruit that was a four-star commit that was on the borderline of earning a fifth star in high school. LSU is rebuilding and could use some talent next season like Baker.

This past season as a junior for the Nevada Wolfpack, Will Baker averaged 13.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 56 percent and a three-point percentage of 35.5 percent. Baker recaptured much of his former high school status with a much larger role at Nevada. While he may not be an NBA prospect anymore, his time at LSU could improve his stock for either the NBA G League or the numerous professional leagues that play throughout the year overseas. In the meantime, he will be a welcome addition to an LSU program that hopes to be way more competitive next season in both the SEC and the NCAA.
