Wrassle Rap.. It is no secret that Wale is a very big wrestling fan and with his upcoming collaboration with the folks at VILLA, wrestling has provided them with the inspiration. The choice of silhouette is none other than the popular ASICS Gel Lyte III and as you can see the colorway is gold, black and a university blue. Dubbed the ‘Intercontinental’ or ‘IC Title’ is it to be noted the exact colorway chosen was strategic and VILLA’s own Dame Wrights actually hinted at it with a picture of Shawn Michaels which can be seen below. Not to mention there is expected to be an explanation of the entire concept, packaging and storyline behind the upcoming collaboration. I am excited to find out.
Wale has a couple of collaborations under his belt (pun intended) with VILLA and with the ‘Penn Relays’ collaboration being axed due to legal issues, we can expect nothing but the best from this one once everything is officially unveiled.

VILLA and Grammy nominated hip-hop recording artist Wale come together again to bring you yet another exclusive collaboration with ASICS.
The “IC Champion” moniker is much more than just a label for the primarily metallic gold sneaker. Wale, like many musicians, has passionate hobbies outside of the music industry. Mr. Folarin is an unapologetic, lifelong fan of the colorful world of professional wrestling and a well-known sneaker enthusiast. So what better way to show his appreciation for his passions than with a dope sneaker?
It’s no secret that Wale is a die-hard fan of wrestling. In fact, he wears his enthusiasm on his sleeve. Themed and titled after one of WWE’s most prestigious title belts, the Intercontinental Championship, this sneaker pays homage to one of Wale’s favorite championship belts in which some of his favorite superstars of all time have held, such as the Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Mr. Perfect and more. Taking to Twitter to discuss every and all things related to wrestling, Wale has in many ways become our very own title-holder for both wrestling and hip-hop entertainment.
With VILLA’s ability to empower communities with opportunities and Wale’s popularity amongst the sneaker community and wrestling aficionados, this collaboration was kicked off with a run against the ropes and finished with a dynamic power slam!

UPDATE: The folks at VILLA have taken to IG to announce the official release date for the upcoming VILLA x Wale ASICS Gel Lyte III ‘IC Champion’ inspired by Wale’s love for wrestling.
