Last night, the Golden State Warriors visited the Oklahoma City Thunder in a matchup between two of the three top teams in the Western Conference. The top seeded Warriors looked to continue their historic season but the third seeded Oklahoma City Thunder had ideas about ending the Dubs historic run.
It was a duel between the two superstar MVP winners and it didn’t disappoint. In the third quarter, there was a slight scare when Curry went down with an ankle injury after Russell Westbrook came down on his leg after a Curry layup attempt. Durant proceed to take over the game and scorch the Warriors defense and Golden State was up against the ropes for a majority of the game. Steph went to the locker room, got checked out but he eventually did return and put on a masterful performance in the Warriors comeback overtime win as Durant would foul out in the extra period and all but seal the Thunder’s fate.
Stephen Curry scored 46 points on 14-24 shooting including going 12-16 from the three-point line, which ties an NBA record for threes made in a game. Curry also handed out six assists in 38 minutes of action. Durant scored 37 points on 13-26 shooting, going 7-11 from the three-point line while he also grabbed 12 rebounds and handed out five assists in 39 minutes of work.
