While most shows and films are being postponed or delayed, a new season of Vida is on the horizon. On April 26, 2020, Vida will return for its third season. Unfortunately, it will also be the show’s last season. In anticipation for the show’s end, the premium network released the season’s first trailer. Along with a new trailer, the series’ showrunner, Tanya Saracho, left a letter for the show’s fans.
“This goodbye is too bittersweet for words. I’d be lying if I said I’m not sad about not getting back into that magical writers room to keep crafting our story. But after all, I got to tell the exact story I wanted to tell, exactly how I wanted to tell it, and that is rare in this industry,” she wrote.
“I do hope you’re able to give this, our last season, a good send off, because let me tell you, it is a powerful one. It is just as compelling as ever with some imagery and themes I’ve never seen on television before. I’m profoundly proud of it,” she added.
Despite bringing in a smaller audience, the show has routinely earned the respect and admiration of Hollywood critics. More importantly, its value has come in its social resonance and impact. Check out the trailer for season three and get ready for its premiere next month.
