Verzuz has made a statement during its first month with Triller. This past weekend, the brand highlighted two legends, Ghostface and Raekwon. Just when some thought the series was losing steam, they picked things back up again with another announcement. After Raekwon and Ghostface shined on the Verzuz stage, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced that The Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire will face off on April 4. The announcements did not stop there. On April 20, Redman and Method Man will participate in a “4/20” battle. Upcoming dates include a “Mother’s Day Special” and a Memorial Day “Rematch.”
The Verzuz continues to evolve after being acquired by Triller earlier this month. Led by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, this latest deal gives the two producers and the 43 previous participants an opportunity have equity in Triller. Moving forward, all Verzuz matchups will be featured on Triller as well as Instagram.
“There is no more disruptive and innovative brand in music today than Verzuz,” Triller Co-Owner Bobby Sarnevesht said.
“[Both brands] share the ‘artist first, music first’ vision. We view this acquisition as more of a partnership than an acquisition, as Swizz, Timbaland and the other 43 artists who are all becoming shareholders and partners in Triller Verzuz from this day forward become our voice.”
The expansion of Triller does not end there. Alongside Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, Triller will incorporate live music performances into future celebrity boxing cards featured on the app. The upcoming bout between Ben Askren and Jake Paul will be accompanied by performances from Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and others.
We got so much on the way and can’t wait to reveal the rest, but for now… #VERZUZ
