Verzuz has set a third and final date for their long-awaited Ashanti and Keyshia Cole battle. The battle was first set to take place in December but was delayed due to a positive COVID-19 test. Instead, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and Apple Music put together a Bay area battle between Too $hort and E-40. After the impromptu battle, the Ashanti and Keyshia Cole showdown was set up for the first week of January. Unfortunately, COVID-19 concerns and the Capitol Hill riots altered the second date. Now, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and Apple Music are looking to set a third and final date.

Ashanti and Keyshia Cole will participate in the first Veruz battle of the new year. The battle will take place on Thursday, January 21. The new date will avoid the NFL Playoffs and the Inauguration and make way for a primetime showdown. Ashanti heads into the battle with records like “Rock With You” and three platinum albums. On the other end, Keyshia Cole has two platinum singles and three platinum albums of her own.
Beyond the upcoming Ashanti and Keyshia Cole battle, it is unclear what the future of Verzuz will be. Many have raised concerns about the health risks many are taking to participate in live battles. Also, Timabaland and Swizz Beatz have not shared who may be participating after Keyshia Cole and Ashanti.
In the meantime, fans of the Verzuz series can gear up for January 21 when Ashanti and Keyshia Cole share the stage.
