While many of us are patiently awaiting what Steph Curry will do on Christmas day against the Los Angeles Lakers, the future NBA Hall of Fame inductee is making moves off the court. On December 22nd, Under Armour and Curry will celebrate the release of the “Curry 6 Christmas In Town” with a special pop-up shop in Oakland, California.

Unlike most limited edition releases, the process of creating the “Curry 6 Christmas In Town” sneakers began with the youth of Oakland and not a designer. Stephen Curry originally went to fashion entrepreneur, Devlin Braswell, with the idea to customize the sneaker. Next, Braswell let the imaginations of local pre-teens drive the design. According to Under Armour, “They began by brainstorming about symbols of Christmas, which led to the classic image of snow.” From there, Braswell and his youth team “honed in for the inspiration of Lake Tahoe, with the white snow caps of surrounding mountains floating far above the icy blue lake.” In the end, “This iconic scenery is reflected in the colorway’s pristine white upper and the blues of the mid-sole and out-sole.”

Those in Oakland can get their hands on the limited release first by visiting the SC30 X Oakland pop-up shop at 472 9th Street. At this location, the sneaker will retail for about $130. Later on, additional pairs will be released on December 26th on the Under Armour app at 8 a.m. EST. Finally, the last pairs will be released on December 26th at 10 a.m. on Under Armour’s website and at Under Armour Brand Houses the U.S., South Korea and China.
