It isn’t everyday where you hear about a shipment of Nike sneakers being stolen and the individual(s) involved get away with it. Well that isn’t the case here neither. The two geniuses (not literally) who thought they were going to get away with stealing a dozen pair of upcoming Nike KD 8s can be facing jail time.
Apparently, two John F. Kennedy airport workers; Calvin Nelson (23) and Audley Russell (47) had swiped the shipment from an Air China flight on May 9th. The flight was en route from Taiwan to Ontario, Canada by why of JFK and this is when the two culprits got away with 12 pairs, or so they thought.
Remember when the Nike KD 8 first appeared online? Well this explains how, the pairs we feasted our eyes on were stolen by Nelson and Russell then they tried to sell the pairs via the account on instagram, SNKR-BASE.
As we know now the KD 8 is expected to release this July and the 12 pairs are valued at $200 a piece, so this means $2,400 is going to cost these two men some years of their freedom. Damn shame.
As of right now the two men are free but in a case like this if convicted, could face up to 4 years of prison time.
